I love to read about how other families stretch their $ and which certain foods can be stretch further. With six kids who always seem to be hungry, we have found that our air popper puts out a lot of popcorn!
We purchased one for $5.00 at a resale shop a couple of years ago and put it in the cabinet and forgot about it. We just continued to use the microwaveable popcorn and never thought much about that air popper we bought. Then one day we pulled it out to entertain the children and it was a hit. A bag of kernels, which range from $2.99 and up, depending on size and brand, goes a long way. I also love how healthier it is than microwaveable popcorn! I read a recent study that said microwaveable popcorn wasn't good for our long term health. We do like to add a little kettle corn salt or if we are really bad, we add melted butter. Not sure if this sounds weird or where it came from in our family, but I like to sprinkle Parmesan cheese (The kind in the green canister that you sprinkle over spaghetti)
DELISH!
Stay Distracted,
Natalie
